These are three images that I chose from a choice of about 100. I think that they are the best to use in my magazine and they look the most poised. I have edited them in a way that highlights the best part of them. The picture with the cat is going to tie in well with one fo the questions I have thought up to use in my DPS interview.

Final Photographs
This is the image I am going to be using for my front cover of my magazine. I chose this picture because the "super-smiler" image is what I want for the feature article. Majorie Ferguson came up with the "chocolate-box", "invitational", "romantic/sexual" and"super-smiler" poses and the "super-smiler" goes well with the tone that I would like to create within my magazine. This is when the teeth are on full show and the face of the model is high-lighted.

Research - Questionnaire
Below is a link to my Google Docs account where I have uploaded the questionnaire I sent out to 20 people of all ages. The results were essential because it allowed me to see what kind of things people like to see in magazines and the things they don't.

Magazine Covers

I have chosen these two magazine covers to focus on because they were close to the specification I am looking for for my magazine cover and when crossed together the audiences apply to my magazine. The 'Q' magazine shows the edgy side given to a magazine cover but also the classic and standard features you would expect to see when picking a magazine off a shelf; cover lines, a central image, puff, plug masthead etc. 'Q' has made it very clear to the consumer buyer that 'Coldplay' are the main feature and that they take prize place in their magazine. In contrast to the 'CosmoGirl' magazine 'Q' has taken a rather masculine approach to its appearance, there isn't anything on the cover that could apply to women that want to read the magazine. 'CosmoGirl' however has many aspects that show that it is strictly meant for girls i.e. the name is the first giveaway. I like the layout of the 'CosmoGirl' magazine as the central image isn't overlapping the masthead. This is a feature I will be using in my foundation production as the title of my magazine is going to make an impact on the reader with it's boldness and contrast to the rest of the magazine. The colour schemes on both of the magazines is very similar, this is something I intended to do when choosing the two magazines to focus on as I would like to use the colours red, black and white on the cover of my magazine. Neither of the magazines is overloaded with pictures which sometimes could make the cover of a magazine look messy and too busy for the reader to understand.
